Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Irrigation Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience in the irrigation field, with a strong emphasis on servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing both residential and commercial irrigation systems. Expertise in Hunter and Rain Bird products is essential. This role requires a professional who is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
Compensation:
Wages are dependent on experience, $40 - $45 an hour.
Responsibilities:
* Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of various irrigation system components, including controllers, valves, sprinklers, drip lines, and pumps.
* Conduct routine maintenance and system checks to ensure optimal performance and water efficiency.
* Install new irrigation system components and make necessary adjustments to existing systems.
* Program and adjust irrigation controllers for various watering schedules and plant needs, with proficiency in Hunter and Rain Bird models.
* Identify and resolve water pressure issues, leaks, and other common irrigation problems.
* Perform system winterizations and spring startups.
* Provide clear and concise explanations of issues and solutions to clients.
* Maintain accurate records of services performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
* Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies.
* Operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment responsibly.
* Communicate effectively with office staff, team members, and clients.
* Suggest system upgrades or improvements to clients when appropriate.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of four (2) years of demonstrable experience as an Irrigation Service Technician.
* Proven expertise in the installation, repair, and maintenance of both Hunter and Rain Bird irrigation products.
* Strong understanding of irrigation hydraulics, wiring, and general system design.
* Ability to read and interpret irrigation plans and schematics.
* Proficiency in using various irrigation tools and diagnostic equipment.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-service oriented approach.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and work in various weather conditions.
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
* Relevant certifications such as Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) or similar are a plus.
* High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or vocational training in horticulture, landscaping, or related field preferred.
