Summary: The Mechanic is responsible for maintenance of all fleet vehicles and heavy equipment. This role is also responsible for managing maintenance and repair as well as a mechanic’s assistant. On site (5%), in office (5%), in shop (90%).

Duties and Expectations:

Oversee, lead and manage all aspects of of fleet vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance and repair to include:

Weekly oil checks

Completion of daily work orders

Maintaining equipment maintenance logs

Yearly inspection of vehicles and heavy equipment

Ordering and inventory of parts such as air filters, oils, belts, etc.

Maintaining proper functioning of trailer lights

Welding and fabricating

Maintain clear, consistent and effective communication with relevant PMs, foreman and office staff regarding repair progress and status.

Maintain relevant communications with PM for Equipment Rentals.

Manage, oversee and lead assistant mechanic.

Maintain clean, organized and safe shop environment.

Manage and oversee an equipment needs and repair budget as well as budget and estimates reporting to owner and relevant staff.

Maintain weekly job site visits to inspect equipment for safety and effective condition.

Qualifications:

Degree or credential in diesel mechanics or related field

3+ years working in mechanic or fabrication shop

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation is $75K to $85 per year.
