Landscape Designer / Project Manager

Job Overview

Greater Gallatin Landscape Contractors is hiring a Landscape Designer / Project Manager to help lead our residential and commercial landscape projects from start to finish. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the creative side of landscape design and the hands-on coordination required to deliver high-quality builds.

You’ll work directly with clients, create designs and proposals, and manage project execution in the field to ensure jobs are completed on time, on budget, and to our standards.

What You’ll Do:

Landscape Design

· Meet with residential and commercial clients to understand project goals, style, and budget

  • Create landscape designs including layout, plant selections, and material recommendations
  • Develop proposals and design presentations
  • Revise designs based on feedback and field conditions
  • Support design decisions with practical installation knowledge

Project Management

· Manage projects from signed contract through completion

  • Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Schedule work, track progress, and keep projects moving efficiently
  • Perform site visits, verify layout, and ensure quality control
  • Communicate updates to clients and handle questions professionally
  • Manage change orders and scope adjustments
  • Track job costs and support project profitability

Estimating & Production Support

· Assist with takeoffs and estimating labor/material quantities

  • Order materials and schedule deliveries to match production needs
  • Identify improvements or add-ons that increase value for the client

Qualifications:

· 2+ years experience in landscape design, landscape construction, or project management

  • Strong knowledge of plants, hardscape materials, and installation methods
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a professional client-facing presence
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites

Preferred Experience:

· Design/build experience (hardscapes, patios, retaining walls, irrigation, drainage, lighting, etc.)

  • Familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Land F/X, Realtime Landscaping, etc.)
  • Ability to read plans and create accurate takeoffs
  • Experience managing subcontractors and field crews
