Emerson Shinnick

Senior Horticulturalist

Emerson joins our team for the 2025 season as the new Senior Horticulturalist for the company, bringing a decade of experience in all thing’s horticulture with an emphasis on the technical and operational aspects that make cultivation successful and business worthy. His duties are to create a leading amendments program for GGC fulfilling all possible landscape needs from fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides and specialty products in horticultural settings. He also serves as a professional guide working with clients through their residences and commercial locations from the “why” an area or landscape is exhibiting a stress or a certain disposition and the various tools and options we have as landscapers to remediate or alter these dynamics to produce an more amicable space.

Originally from the Willamette Valley he began his career working in vineyard management obtaining his Bachelors of Science from Oregon State University in Horticulture in 2018 and worked closely with Results Partners during the booming Oregon wine industry of those years. He then transitioned to leading the Propagation Department Greenhouse at Monrovia Nursery Company where he was on the cutting edge of developing robotic manufacturing floors and precision agriculture for large scale ornamental nursery production systems.

Emerson enjoys taking it slow and easy on the weekends after difficult long weeks of herbicide applications, often times hiding indoors from the blistering Sun and taking care of his beloved Pineapple Plant named Pete.
